  • impossible justification

Maybe i assumed that the wars would happen virtually in the 21st century, especially after the pandemic when the whole world turned online. I feel disoriented hearing that actual human bodies are killed, injured, tortured. But it is still happening everywhere, Ukraine, Gaza, Syria, Sudan… anywhere money is scarce and the power turns selfish. What can justify piano playing and spending all day sensing the most loose and gentle touch of every finger, when numerous bodies are brutally hurt, humiliated, suffered, and discarded. No force, no pressure, no sudden movement, immediate release, slow attack…. If good sound is beauty that people can agree with, can I equate it with ideal human conditions? Can I say that performers embody those dreams through their playing? Can i touch people like Ross Perlin, convince them to engage with my playing?
